SCHOLARSHIPS IN THE USA FOR BLACKS

Before now, black people across the globe have been praised for their doggedness in different strata of life, in the same way, different programs have been mapped out for them in order to appreciate their efforts, and one of which is scholarships in the USA for blacks or Africans.

In this article, we will break down some opportunities for the black race, the conditions, and how they can access them.

In America today, the African people have been honored in different areas, and I must confess that they are good people who deserve the best just like the rest of us.

Years back, I visited Africa and what I saw made me even want to change my mind about going back to the United States. From their friendliness to their hustling spirit, they are wonderfully created.

To this effect, I am dedicating this post to the African scholars out there who wish to further their education to carefully read the post till the end.

AFRICAN SCHOLARSHIPS IN THE USA

  • JOINT JAPAN/WORLD BANK GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

This scholarship covers all expenses for a Master’s degree and is offered to students from developing countries, especially Africans. It is graciously sponsored by the World Bank and the Government of Japan. The study areas it covers include; health, agriculture, education, economics, natural science, social sciences, and other related areas.

USEFUL DATES: 31st March, yearly.

  • FOREIGN FULBRIGHTSTUDENT PROGRAM

This is a double standard scholarship, in the sense that it takes care of scholars pursuing Master’s Degree and Ph.D. programs. It covers health insurance, tuition fee, living stipend, airfare, and textbooks.

  • HUBERT H. HUMPHREY FELLOWSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

The Hubert H. Humphrey program is specially dedicated to international students who have intense zeal to obtain professionalism in strengthening their leadership skills.

USA FOR BLACKS

  • AGA KHAN FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Every year, the Aga Khan Foundation offers a limited number of scholarships to postgraduate students who have demonstrated outstanding qualities in their areas by providing financial assistance in terms of 50% grants and 50 % loans. Countries qualified to apply include; Tanzania, Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, Madagascar, Mozambique, Syria, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Kyrgyzstan. The scholarship covers both Master’s and Ph.D. programs.      

USEFUL DATES: the annual application starts from January to March 31st.
